Arts Foundation of Cape Cod Announces Pops by the Sea T-Shirt Design Contest

Arts Foundation of Cape CodCENTERVILLE – The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod has announced the start of the annual Cape-Wide Art Scholarship T-shirt Design Competition.

The competition is open to every 5th through 12th grade student living on the Cape, including those in public, parochial, private, charter, technical and home schools.

The winner’s original art will be featured on the official t-shirt for the 31st Annual Citizens Bank Pops by the Sea concert on August 14.

The winner of the competition will have the opportunity to share his or her talent with a wide audience of concertgoers, sponsors and volunteers on the day of the event.

The official t-shirts will be worn by over 300 of the concert’s volunteers and will be sold to the general public.

The contest winner will also be awarded a $250 cash scholarship and will be featured in the in the 2016 Pops by the Sea program book.

All proceeds generated by the t-shirt sales will benefit the Arts Foundation.

“We love this fun and inclusive art competition,” said Julie Wake, Executive Director of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod. “It gives young artists an opportunity to be seen and challenges their design and critical thinking skills. We are a community that values the arts, and it shows in our t-shirt design archives.”

The closing date for the competition is March 23 at midnight.

An exhibition of the finalists’ work and a reception honoring the winners will be held on April 14 at the Sandwich Glass Museum, where the Pops by the Sea commemorative painting will also be unveiled.
