HYANNIS – The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is on the move.
The non-profit organization that promotes the arts and culture on Cape Cod is relocating to Main Street in Hyannis and will lease space at the Bank of Cape Cod.
Julie Wake, the executive director of the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod said the organization can’t wait to hit Main Street.
“Main Street is a cultural district and we feel that the Arts Foundation really belongs in a cultural district,” Wake said. “We really love the Main Street district. There’s so much going on. It’s constantly evolving and we just want to be a part of that community.”
The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod has been housed on the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce campus on Patti Page Way in Centerville for several years.
Wake said the move is expected to take place by March 1.
The move will not have an impact on the bank branch’s operations, according to Timothy Telman, the president and CEO of Bank of Cape Cod.
“This arrangement is something we have given careful thought to and one that will benefit the bank as well as the east end of Main Street, and more importantly, the Arts Foundation as that organization continues to grow and increase its visibility on Cape Cod, said Telman. “We are delighted to be partnering with the Arts Foundation.”
The space at the bank became available when corporate offices moved to the Iyannough Road location in 2014.
Telman said many options for the space were considered before it was offered to the Arts Foundation.
The Arts Foundation will have its own entrance on the right side of the bank parking lot along with visible signage in partnership with the Bank of Cape Cod.
