HYANNIS – The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is offering $1,000.00 scholarships to local graduating high school seniors pursuing higher education in the arts.
The five awards are in partnership with The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod.
This is the seventh year the money has been offered, and in order to be eligible students must live on Cape, be graduating from a public, private, tech, or home education school and be accepted into a degree program in the field at an accredited college or university.
Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and require the submission of a portfolio and an essay. Categories include Visual Arts, Performance Arts, and Creative Writing.
Within each category are concentrations in architecture, graphic design, painting, sculpture, mixed media under Visual Arts, set and costume design, dance, vocal and instrumental music under performance arts, and poetry, short story and script writing under Creative Writing.
Students can apply online at artsfoundationcapecod.org/programs/scholarships throughout the spring semester.
The application deadline is April 30th, and the scholarships will be awarded in May.
