DENNIS – The Association to Preserve Cape Cod has received a $50,000 grant from the Massachusetts Environmental Trust to develop water report cards for the Cape’s water resources.
The project, entitled ‘State of the Waters: Cape Cod,’ will entail the collection, and translation, of water quality data into report cards that summarize the condition of the Cape’s waterways.
Data that will be looked at during this study will include coastal waters, ponds, streams and rivers, drinking water and groundwater.
The goal of the program is to raise public awareness of water issues on Cape Cod and to promote action to protect and improve water resources.
For this Cape-wide project, APCC will be partnering with the Cape Cod Commission, Massachusetts Bays National Estuary Program, Center for Coastal Studies, and others.
