Team “Trashy Thoughts” with the Atlantic Sailfish
CAPE COD – A team of fishermen in the Falmouth Grand Prix Fishing Tournament came home with a rare catch in local waters.
Team “Trashy Thoughts” from Nauset Disposal caught an Atlantic Sailfish during the tournament. The Sailfish are rare in the northeast and are usually caught off Florida.
Owner and Captain Shawn DeLude, Captain Eric Stewart, Captain Tim DeLude, Captain Chris Kennedy and Angler Kevin DeLude caught the fish in the North East Canyons off the Cape on Friday around 8 pm.
There are no records an Atlantic Sailfish being caught off Massachusetts. There was an unconfirmed catch in the canal in 2013.
