Attorney General Recognizes Brewster Detective

police carBREWSTER – The Attorney General’s office recognized Det. Sgt. Paul Judge, of the Brewster Police Department, for his role in a narcotics investigation which resulted in the convictions of three men involved in heroin trafficking.

Detectives began the investigation after the death of a 20-year-old woman from Brewster who overdosed on heroin.

Judge acquired evidence of the woman’s heroin suppliers, but the investigation was slowed because state laws prevent the prosecution of a drug dealer for contributing to the death of an overdose victim.

Judge turned to the Drug Enforcement Administration for help on the case, which put the case into the hands of Federal Prosecuters.

Three men were convicted and sentenced to federal prison as a result.

Joshua Johnson, 25, of Dennis, received an 8 year sentence, David Geoffrion,27, of Brewster, received a 10 year sentence and Maximo Pena, of Malden received a 21 year sentence.

Judge has been with the Brewster Police Department since 2002 and has been a detective for seven years.
