Atwood House and Museum to Hold ‘Pirate Day’ This Month

CHATHAM- Get ready to release your inner treasure seeker during this year’s Atwood House & Museum ‘Pirate Days,’ featuring guest speaker Chris Macort.

Kicking off the event Macort will share the “Untold Stories of the Pirate Ship Whydah,” exploring all aspects of the historic vessel, and its swashbuckling crew.

Talks get underway August 1st from 5 – 6:30 p.m. general admission for the event is set at $10; and is free for current members.

On August 4th, Atwood will feature ‘The Free Men of the Sea’ who will perform demonstrations, show artifacts, and sing shanties for all to enjoy.

Participants will also get the opportunity to get their face painted during the day as well.

Hours will be 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 10, and younger.
