COTUIT – An award-winning sculptor is coming to Cape Cod next month to hold a weekend workshop.

The Cotuit Center for the Arts will host Relief Sculpting with Alison Belt on Saturday and Sunday, June 16 and 17.

The workshop for adults is designed to teach beginner and intermediate students the foundations of making a relief sculpture.

Belt will demonstrate how to make both portrait and botanical specimen relief sculptures.

All materials, including clay, stands and tools will be provided and students are asked to bring a picture of what they would like to create in clay. Students are welcome to bring their own tools and are encouraged to bring snacks and a brown bag lunch.

Based in Baltimore, Belt was a finalist in the 2017 National Sculpture Society Annual Awards Exhibition.

The fee for the workshop is $200, $170 for members, plus a $25 materials fee.
