Barnstable Airport Receives Money from FAA

KA_Barnstable Airport_JetBlue_Centerville Pie_051216_048HYANNIS – Barnstable Municipal Airport is receiving more than $312,000 in Federal Aviation Administration funds.

Over $214,000 is in the form of a new grant offer from the FAA.

The money will be used to seal and paint 300,000 square feet on the main terminal aircraft parking ramp.

It is anticipated that this will help preserve the pavement for an additional five years.

The money was originally earmarked by the FAA in 2013 for Provincetown Municipal Airport but they were unable to utilize the money for their airport reconstruction projects because of a complex permitting process.

Around $188,000 of the money will be placed in conjunction with a previous FAA grant given to Barnstable Municipal Airport for the reconstruction of the 15-33 runway.
