Barnstable Clean Water Coalition Offers Several Volunteer Opportunties

OSTERVILLE – The Barnstable Clean Water Coalition is offering several upcoming opportunities for residents to get involved.

The coalition works to restore and preserve clean water in Barnstable through education, monitoring, mitigation and advocacy.

The organization is seeking volunteers for its Race to the Pint event on April 27.

A 5K/10K run and walk will be followed by a party at Cape Cod Beer in Hyannis.

Various shifts are available.

The coalition is also seeking aquaculture and education interns.

Interns will assist with the care of oysters and the maintenance of the coalition’s upweller in Hyannis. They will also assist with public outreach and educational presentations on water quality issues.

The organization is also in need of Seasonal Water Stewards who will assist with fieldwork and other monitoring programs, along with educating the public on water quality issues.
