POCASSET – Barnstable County Sheriff Inmates completed work for a church in Pocasset.

The two-week job consisted of re-shingling the parsonage behind the First Baptist Church of Pocasset.

The front and garage side of the dwelling were attended to and saved parishioners about $12,150 in labor costs.

Accumulating the funds necessary for these kind of makeovers is always a challenge, says church bookkeeper Josie Paolini,

“So it’s a great program the way we see it.  And we’re not the only ones benefiting.  The inmates get to do something positive while bumping up their resume.  A plus if they continue with the tools when they get out,” said Paolini.

“A nice Easter season assignment,” said Barnstable County Sheriff James Cummings. “Good to see the men building for a change instead of shoveling snow.”
