BARNSTABLE – The Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training in October and is now taking applications for classes.

After training, CERT members are mobilized to help first responders in case of emergencies. CERT members may also be utilized in non-emergency situations, such as road races, parades, and festivals.

The free classes will begin in early October and will meet every Wednesday for over a month. The program will be held in Falmouth and is available to any resident aged 16 years and older.
