Barnstable County Emergency Personnel to Provide Hurricane Assistance in Florida

BARNSTABLE – Members of the Barnstable County All Hazards Incident Management Team deployed yesterday to help with response and recovery efforts for Hurricane Michael.

The team will support Florida’s Emergency Operations Center to help set Points of Distribution, which are used to hand out food, water, ice and sometimes fuel in the areas most effected by the storm.

The team members will provide assistance through October 27.

The team works under the oversight of the Regional Emergency Planning Committee and is made up of state and local first responders, civilians, and retirees who collectively hold specialized training in areas of command, operations, planning, finance and logistics.
