Barnstable Looks for Resident Input on Shooting Range

507511077WEST BARNSTABLE – The town of Barnstable is looking for input from the public on the future of the West Barnstable Shooting Range.

The facility was closed in December of 2012 when the town’s insurance company realized the range was not included in the town’s policy. The closure also uncovered a number of environmental issues at the facility.

After a suggestion from the Town Council to survey citizens, a poll and discussion topic have been posted online at www.barnstableiforum.com.

The town’s Marine and Environmental Affairs division also sent out 2,037 surveys to past permit holders. The survey asked for opinions on the re-opening of the range, associated fees and hours of operation.
