BARNSTABLE – Work to dredge Barnstable Outer Harbor is expected to begin this week.

The dredged sand will be de-watered and used to renourish Sandy Neck Beach to help protect the dune in front of the parking lot.

Sand will also be used to renourish a portion of Sandy Neck near the cottage colony.

The work should be finished by January 15 and the harbor and ramps will remain open to the public.
