CENTERVILLE – A Centerville man, who has two open cases in Barnstable District Court for heroin distribution charges, was arrested again Friday by the Barnstable Police Department Narcotics Unit.

The narcotics unit, along with the Barnstable PD Street Crimes Unit, Yarmouth police and the state police, were investigating John Antrim, 27, for two weeks.

Police believed Antrim was traveling to Boston to buy heroin when a car he was a passenger in was pulled over on Shoot Flying Hill Road in Centerville.

Police said surveillance units watched Antrim attempt to hide something, believed to be drugs, and he was taken to the Barnstable Police Department for further investigation.

A Mashpee K-9 unit was called to the station where a narcotics dog detected drugs on the suspects person.

A search of Antrim revealed he was allegedly in possession of 10 grams of heroin.

Antrim was charged with possession of class A heroin with intent to distribute and is currently being held on $25,000 cash bail at the Barnstable Police Department.
