Barnstable Police Searching for Man Who Evaded Arrest Twice

Barnstable Police LogoHYANNIS – Barnstable police are searching for a man who evaded police twice last night.

Police say 41-year-old Eric Roderick, who was wanted on 4 outstanding warrants and has no known permanent address, was the passenger in a car stopped on Route 28 at Strawberry Hill Road around 11 p.m.

Sergeant Mike Riley said Roderick fled while officer Corey Frederickson was attempting an arrest.

The officer caught up to Roderick who evaded again, after a struggle, by slipping out of his sweatshirt.

The suspect then returned to the black Toyota Corolla and drove off, according to Riley.

In addition to the four outstanding warrants, Roderick now faces additional charges including assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, operating on a suspended license and failure to stop for a police officer.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Roderick is asked to contact Barnstable police.
