HYANNIS – Barnstable Poice seized a handgun and drugs during a traffic stop on Main Street in Hyannis Sunday evening resulting in three arrests.
Around 5:30 p.m., An officer pulled over a motor vehicle for a defective taillight and a market lanes violation.
According to police, when the officer approached the vehicle he smelled marijuana and said the driver’s eye’s looked red and glassy.
After backup arrived, searches of the 3 passengers were performed.
The searches uncovered heroin, marijuana and a loaded .38 caliber revolver.
The passenger in the backseat, an unamed juvenile from Brockton, was found to be carrying the revolver and was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
The driver, Jeffrey Bartelmy, 19, of Stoughton, was arrested for operating under the influence of drugs.
A third passenger, Collin Peters, 18, of Mashpee, was placed under arrest for Possession of a Class A Drug, heroin, and Possession of a Class D Drug, marijuana.
