BARNSTABLE – The Town of Barnstable is preparing for the upcoming winter snow season and are asking residents to make some precautionary moves in advance of the first snow of the season.
The Department of Public works is requesting that property owners stake their properties with reflective material that can be seen over drifts. They recommend that the stakes be placed as close to the edge of the property as possible and placed every 8-10 feet. They also warn that it is difficult to get the stakes into the ground if it is frozen so it should be done prior to the first hard freeze.
Also, officials are requesting motorists to stay off the roads if there is a driving ban issued.
