BARNSTABLE- Due to incredibly high heat being felt throughout Cape Cod, officials with the Barnstable Public School system have decided to cancel the first day for students set for Wednesday.
The Bourne Public Schools also called off their first day of classes on Wednesday in a late night announcement.
A heat advisory is in effect for Cape Cod through Wednesday night.
