Barnstable School Committee Seeks Input on Superintendent Search

hyannis westBARNSTABLE – The Barnstable School District is gathering input from parents and students on the search for a new superintendent.

A forum was scheduled for this morning at West Villages Elementary and another will be held at Hyannis West Elementary Thursday night at 7. The meetings are being put on by the Barnstable school department and their search consultants, the Massachusetts Association of School Committees, and the Cape Cod Collaborative.

Former Superintendent Mary Czajkowski now heads the Lexington school district. She had been the Barnstable superintendent from 2011 to this past June. Barnstable School District Attorney Bill Butler is serving as the interim school superintendent.

Barnstable’s school department has 4,000 children in seven schools, including five elementary schools, one middle school, one intermediate school and one high school.
