BARNSTABLE – School officials in the Town of Barnstable are working on their budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year and will unveil their plan next month.
Superintendent Meg Mayo-Brown will present a preliminary budget to the School Committee on February 7. A more detailed proposal will be unveiled at the February 28 School Committee meeting.
A public hearing on the budget will be held on March 21.
The School Committee needs to send the budget to Town Manager Mark Ells by April 5.
Mayo-Brown has been working with Barnstable Deputy Finance Director Gareth Markwell since September on the budget. Principals across the district submitted their funding requests to the Superintendent over the last few weeks.
