Barnstable to Host Meeting on Intersection and Pedestrian Improvements

HYANNIS – The Town of Barnstable is hosting an informational meeting on May 20th to review proposed intersection and pedestrian improvements with residents. 

The work would be done in the area of Independence Drive, Attucks Lane and Kidd’s Hill Road/Phinney’s Lane.

The meeting is to provide interested individuals an opportunity to hear more about the scheduled intersection and pedestrian improvements and speak directly with Department of Public Works staff and the project consultant, VHB. 

The project includes: 

  • Design and traffic signal improvements at Attucks Lane and Wilkins Lane; and Phinney’s Lane and Kidd’s Hill Road
  • Sidewalk installation along Independence Drive and portions of Attucks Lane, Kidd’s Hill Road, and Merchants Way
  • Sewer and water improvements in Merchants Way and Attucks Lane area

The infrastructure improvement project aims to serve existing and future commercial and residential development in the area, supporting the economic and housing needs of Barnstable’s residents and the Cape Cod region.

The meeting will be held at 5:30 pm at the Hyannis Golf Course.
