Barnstable-West Barnstable Elementary Holds Opening Ceremony for New Modular Classrooms

sk_wbarn-elsch_9-21-16-1HYANNIS – Barnstable-West Barnstable Elementary School held an opening ceremony on Wednesday for their new modular classrooms.

The new modular classrooms replace the portable trailers that had been used as classrooms for decades.

“It’s really a terrific opportunity for the current generation of BWB students and future generations of BWB students to have an appropriate space to learn and grow,” said Barnstable Public Schools Superintendent Meg Mayo-Brown.

Barnstable Public Schools worked with TBA Architects, Inc. to come up with a design for the modular construction.

Vanguard Modular built the new modular classrooms at Barnstable-West Barnstable and Hyannis West Elementary Schools.

An opening ceremony was held last week for new modular classrooms at Hyannis West Elementary and for a new playground at the Enoch Cobb Early Learning Center.

“Investment in children and in students demonstrates the town’s commitment and acknowledgement that children are our future,” said Mayo-Brown.
