HYANNIS – Gas prices in Massachusetts ticked up 2 cents for the second straight week.
AAA Northeast reports that the average price for self-serve, regular unleaded is up to $2.84 in the Bay State.
That price is 2 cents lower than the national average and 55 cents higher than the same time last year.
“With gasoline demand running high and supply running lower, we will likely see an end-of-summer pump price rally as inventories continue to tighten, especially on the East Coast,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs for AAA Northeast.
Prices on Cape Cod are between $2.77 and $3.14, according to GasBuddy.com.
