Beginners Learn to Print at Cotuit Center for the Arts

COTUIT – The Cotuit Center for the Arts will hold a session this month on the art of printmaking.

Master printmaker Alice Galick is teaching beginners in her Printmaking 101 class starting on Wednesday October 17th.

“This class is designed for adults with no experience in printmaking,” said Galick Alice, a teacher of art for over 30 years.

“Together we’ll explore monotype, monoprint, and stencils and students will be able to create their own beautiful and unique images.”

Galick is a native of North Carolina and a long time resident in Connecticut and Massachusetts. She graduated from the University of North Carolina and received an MA from Hartford Art School,  two assistantships in printmaking at Penland and many workshops with noted artists from around the US have added depth and knowledge to her printmaking and painting.

She has studied with Florence Putterman, Jim Cambronne, Florence Hatcher, Ken Kerslake, Catherine Kernan, Thomas Wojak, Dan Welden, and Ron Pokrasso.

Galick has received awards and exhibited extensively in galleries, museums, and juried shows throughout New England. Her work is included in public and private collections around the US and Europe.

Classes run every Wednesday, 10am to 12pm from October 17th to November 7th and are limited to ten participants.  The cost is $140 for non-members and $119 for members of the Center.

Non-members can combine the class and an annual membership at Cotuit Center for the Arts for $179, allowing them to instantly discount their class price by 15% while enjoying all the other benefits of membership.
