Behind the Scenes at Nantucket’s Maria Mitchell Museum

NANTUCKET- Have you ever wondered how museum animals and tropical fish are taken care of during the winter season when the sites are closed?

Now will be your chance as Nantucket’s own Maria Mitchell Association will be opening their doors during the “Very Hungry Vertebrates” talk in 2019.

Visitors will be able to learn about feeding ecology and how the seasons affect all animals throughout the year.

The cost for this program will be $5 for members and $10 for non-members. At least one adult must register with their child, and the program is open to all ages. Doors will open every Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. until April.

The Maria Mitchell Association is a private non-profit organization founded in 1902. MMA works to preserve the legacy of Nantucket native astronomer, naturalist, librarian, and educator, Maria Mitchell.
