HYANNIS PORT – Thousands of bicyclists, runners, and walkers will take to the streets this weekend as they ride from Boston to Hyannis Port in support of Best Buddies.

The 17th Annual Best Buddies Challenge: Hyannis Port starts Friday night in Boston with the annual Tom Brady Football Challenge at Harvard Stadium in Boston. The event continues into Saturday with a 100-mile bike ride from Boston to Hyannis Port.

All of the funds raised support Best Buddies International’s mission to provide friendship, employment, and leadership opportunities for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

The stars will be coming out to support the cause, with a number of Brady’s past and present teammates joining him for the annual football game, including Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, and Tedy Bruschi.

“Best Buddies is a fantastic organization with a great message to spread, and I am so proud to support their work,” said Brady, who will serve as an Honorary Co-Chair for this year’s event.

“I hope my role as Honorary Co-Chair will continue to bring attention to the organization’s mission of friendship and inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the world,” Brady added.

Brady has been a long-time supporter of Best Buddies, and currently serves as a Best Buddies Global Ambassador.

On Saturday morning, bicyclists will begin the 100-mile trek from Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood to Hyannis. Some riders will also take part in the 50-mile course, beginning in Carver, and the 20-mile course, starting in Sandwich.

The Carl Lewis Challenge raises money for Best Buddies through a 5K run or walk.

The Challenge will wrap up with a clambake and a concert by the Beach Boys.
