BOSTON – State Senate President Therese Murray was honored as “Legislator of the Year” today at the 2014 BIO International Convention in San Diego, Ca.
Murray was given the honor for her work developing and promoting the life sciences industry in Massachusetts.
“I am deeply honored to receive this award and am proud of the bold investments we have made as a Commonwealth in the emerging sectors of life sciences and biotechnology,” said Murray.
Fritz Bittenbender, BIO’s Executive Vice President, Public Affairs, thanked Murray for her commitment to advance House Bill 3734, which deals with biologic medicines and was signed into law this week by Governor Patrick.
The BIO International Convention will be attended by 16,000 people this year and is considered to be the world’s largest biotechnology gathering.
