Blue Economy Foundation Announces Board Changes

John Bullard

CENTERVILLE- The Cape Cod Blue Economy Foundation has announced changes to its corporate structure including the promotions of John Bullard and Scott Vandersall to the board of directors, while Jon Hagenstein has been elected as treasurer of the organization.

Bullard has spent a career in public service, much of it focused on environmental protection. As mayor of New Bedford from 1986-1992, he brought the city into compliance with the Clean Water Act by building a secondary wastewater treatment plant, a project that contributed to the health of Buzzards Bay.

Vandersall currently serves as the vice president and regional manager for The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank in Orleans. He has held this position since January of 2017 and is responsible for overseeing the business lending activities in the Lower, and Outer Cape Cod markets.

Finally, Hagenstein, a Sandwich native is a partner at Beacon Marine Construction; a company that provides construction services on waterfront infrastructure such as docks, seawalls, and dredging.

The Cape Cod Blue Economy Foundation is a subsidiary of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce that was established to help balance and grow the region’s economy by focusing on its water and coastal resources.
