HYANNIS – A body found along a beach on Lieutenant Island in Wellfleet this past weekend has been identified as 46-year-old Dave Myers of Eastham.

Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe made the confirmation Monday night. The cause of death was drowning.

Myers’ body was discovered Sunday afternoon just after 12:30 by a person walking in the area.

Myers was the former production director at Cape Cod Broadcasting in Hyannis, where he was also an on-air personality on WOCN 104.7.

He also served as the executive director of Lower Cape Communications Inc. (WOMR) from 2006 to 2009 and was the communications representative for the Barnstable County Regional Emergency Planning Committee from 2008 to 2010.

Before moving to Cape Cod, Myers was the operations manager and development director for a community radio station in Northern California.

In addition to his work in the media industry, Myers was an accomplished performer who performed regularly in the local music scene, most recently in Provincetown earlier this month.
