PLYMOUTH (AP) — State police say the bomb squad was called to a local beach after fireworks washed ashore.
A spokesperson tells WCVB-TV police responded to Plymouth Beach on Sunday.
The commercial fireworks are believed to be connected to a Fourth of July incident in the town in which a barge being used for a celebration caught fire. Several unexploded shells fell into the ocean.
Beachgoers are urged to be on the lookout for more shells.
