MASHPEE – Two Boston sports reporters will co-host the ceremony honoring former Red Sox great Roger Clemens next month at Willowbend Country Club in Mashpee.

The honoree induction event August 4 will be co-hosted by Channel 4 sports anchor Steve Burton and NESN reporter and Red Sox historian Gordon Edes and includes a cocktail reception and dinner, followed by a fireside chat and question and answer session with the audience and plaque dedication.

Clemens was chosen as the 2017 Willowbend honoree for his achievements on the baseball field during a 24-year major league career, his love of golf and his humanitarian undertakings.

The evening will culminate with the dedication of a bronze plaque commemorating Clemens’ work on behalf of sick and underprivileged children. Clemens and his wife Debbie established the Roger Clemens Foundation in 1992 to support educational, charitable, literacy, scientific and religious activities with a special emphasis on underprivileged, at-risk and children with special needs.

A limited number of tickets remain available to the public for the event. The cost is $100 per adult and $75 for children under 18 years of age. To RSVP call Marianella Van Etten at 508-539-5303.
