WASHINGTON – Congressman Bill Keating is applauding President Obama following his final State of the Union address.
The Bourne Democrat says the President mapped out a blueprint for the country to “win the future,” and says Obama helped get the country back on track following the Great Recession.
Keating says he supports the President’s call for investments in prescription drug abuse treatment, Medicare, and social security. The congressman also applauded Obama’s stance on improving community college access.
With the 2016 election season underway, Keating called for an end to “divisive rhetoric.” He recently criticized Republican Presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s call for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States.
President Obama is hitting the road following last night’s address. The president is visiting Omaha, Nebraska today, and tomorrow he’ll be in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. At both stops he’s expected to tout progress under his leadership and goals for his final year in office.
