BUZZARDS BAY – Bourne Police were dispatched to the area of Puritan Rd. Thursday morning at 6:50 a.m. for a report of a past Assault and Battery. According to the initial accounts, a 14-year-old female was
walking along Puritan Rd towards her bus stop when she was grabbed from behind and thrown to the ground by an unknown man.
The male then grabbed the female by the neck at which point a witness intervened and the male fled the area in a light color (possibly blue or gray) older model sedan, with a license plate possibly containing “SW”
or “5W”. The suspect was described as a white male, medium height, with grey stubble on his face, possibly in his late 20’s or early 30’s. The victim was not injured.
Officers are actively investigating this incident and, due to the nature of this investigation, no additional information is available for release at this time. While the specific motive of this incident is unknown, there
is no indication of increased risk to other children in town. All available officers are alert to this situation. Additional information will be released if it becomes available.
