BOURNE – Police are searching for a man who assaulted a teenage girl this morning on Puritan Road in Buzzards Bay.
According to reports, the 14-year-old was thrown to the ground and then grabbed by the neck by the unknown suspect while walking towards her bus stop before 7 a.m.
A witness intervened causing the suspect to flee in a light, blue or gray sedan with a license plate possibly containing containing “SW” or “5W.”
Police said the suspect is a white male in his late 20s or early 30s with grey stubble on his face.
The girl was not injured, according to police.
Anyone with information regarding the investigation is asked to contact Bourne police.
Police said the specific motive of the incident is not known, but there is no indication of additional risk to other children in town.
