Bourne Town Meeting Voters Reject Recreational Marijuana Shops

BOURNE – Recreational marijuana shops will be banned in Bourne following a vote Monday night at town meeting.

The final tally was 415 in favor to 321 against in a secret ballot.

Medical marijuana facilities would not be impacted by the vote.

In other action, Bourne town meeting voters approved a ground-mounted solar overlay district that would be located along the Scenic Highway.

Residents also approved money to fix the garage doors at the Buzzards Bay fire station and altered some language on how the town will define affordable housing units.
