Boys and Girls Club to Host ‘Screech at the Beach’ Fundraising Event

MASHPEE – The Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod is hosting the “Screech at the Beach 5K Road Race & Kids Fun Run” on Saturday, October 21st.

The event will take place at 11 a.m. along the quiet ocean view roads in New Seabury in support of over 1,000 Cape Cod children, featuring a 5K Road Race with post-race festivities & awards, including complimentary food and drink.

Costumes are encouraged with awards for the best individual and group.

Cash prizes for male and female and age groups and tee shirts are available for the first 100 registered.

The event will be held at Popponesset Marketplace and registration and post-race awards and lunch will take place in a big tent donated by the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department.

The Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod has served the youth of Cape Cod for 20 years, providing free afterschool programs and an affordable summer camp that’s open to any Cape Cod child or teen age 6-18.

The Club provides programs for more than 1,000 boys and girls in the areas of character and leadership development, educational enhancement, career preparation, health and life skills, the arts and sports, fitness and recreation.

The membership fee is $100 for the entire school year for kids in grades 1-6.
