Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod Hosts Bass and Blues Fishing Tournament on July 1

Boys and GirlsMASHPEE – The 11th annual Bass and Blues Fishing Tournament, benefitting the Boys and Girls Club, is taking place next week.

The Mashpee Yacht Club is hosting the event on July 1, with all proceeds going to the organization’s 963 children and teens.

The lines in the water start at 5 a.m. and there will be first, second and third prizes in both the Bass and Blues categories.

New this year is the biggest fish prize and the total prize money is up to $5,000 on a minimum participation of 20 boats.

The event will be capped off with a pig roast and awards banquet for the fishermen and their guests in the evening at 5 p.m.

A captain’s meeting is scheduled for June 30 at the Popponesset Marketplace Raw Bar.

The cost per boat is $500, but those with no boat can put a team together and fish on a donated boat for $1,200.
