Route 134 In Dennis Back Open Following Truck Rollover

UPDATE 2:50PM – Dennis Police have re-opened Route 134 to traffic.

According to police, the driver of a truck owned by Ring Bros in South Dennis, was Medflighted to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston with life threatening injuries this morning.

At 11:54 a.m. Dennis police and fire units responded to a motor vehicle accident where trees needed to be cut and branches cleared to gain access to the victim.

The van style delivery truck was on its side, after striking numerous trees, northbound in front of 812 Rte. 134 South Dennis.

Dennis fire and police units were able to remove the victim to a nearby ambulance and was latter transported to a landing zone at the Wixon Middle School, South Dennis.

The fire department secured a diesel spill from a fuel tank while police units secured and shut down Rte. 134.

Assistance was called from the Dennis DPW to help removed trees and debris from the crash site.

DENNIS – Route 134 in Dennis will be closed for the next few hours due to a serious accident involving a rolled over truck.

The road will be closed between the Wixon School and Old Chatham Road.

A medflight is being called to the scene and will land near the Wixon School.

It is unclear as to exactly when the road will re-open, as an accident reconstruction team will be on the scene.

Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes.

The Dennis Police Department expects to release more information on the accident later today.
