BREAKING: Transformer Blows in Dennis Causing Power Outages

DENNIS – Dennis police say that a transformer blew this afternoon near the rail trail and a power line was down near the intersection of Route 134 and Route 28 in Dennis.

When the incident occurred, over 13,000 Eversource customers in Dennis, Harwich and Yarmouth were without power, according to Eversource.

The power outage caused the traffic lights on Route 134 to go off, which caused delays on the roadway.

Firefighters extinguished a fire caused by the downed power line.

Eversource crews were on the scene after the incident, attempting to re-connect power to the area.
