Brewster Coastal Issues in Focus This Week

BREWSTER-  The first session of the Brewster Coastal Committee’s series “Sustaining Brewster’s Public Beaches and Landings” will be taking the stage this week.

During the meeting, Speaker Greg Berman, a Coastal Resources Specialist, will examine the physical forces shaping Brewster’s coastal resources, and the changes anticipated due to sea level rise and storm surge.

Berman is a certified Profession Geologist and Geographic Information Systems Professional with over 20 years of experience with surveying, interpreting, and reporting on coastal geology and is now the coastal resource specialist at the Barnstable County Extension and Woods Hole Sea Grant project.

This is the first of a series of five meetings to be presented by the Coastal Committee designed by consultant Carole Ridley to provide community conversations on which to base the development of Brewster’s coastal resources plan.

The meeting will take place at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History starting on Thursday, May 17th at 6:00 pm.
