Brewster Officials to Discuss Recreational Marijuana Bylaw at Public Forum

BREWSTER – Issues relating to the siting and operations of recreational marijuana facilities will be the focus of a public forum Thursday in Brewster.

The town’s planning board is in the process of drafting a zoning bylaw to regulate retail stores, cultivators and manufacturers.

Town officials, including Town Administrator Mike Embury and Town Planner Ryan Bennett, are gathering input from the public.

The forum is at the Brewster Ladies’ Library from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Citizens, prospective customers and business owners are invited to ask questions and provide comments.

A final version of the bylaw is expected to go before voters at Special Town Meeting on March 12.

A proposed ban and moratorium on recreational pot shops was defeated at Fall Town Meeting.
