BREWSTER – The Brewster Community Network is holding a forum next week on a proposal aimed at improving affordable housing in town.
Town officials are looking to establish a Municipal Affordable Housing Trust, a move that would require approval at town meeting on May 7. The proposal comes as part of the Brewster Housing Production Plan, which sets housing goals and implementation strategies for the town moving forward.
A number of towns across Massachusetts have created similar trusts, including Yarmouth. Mary Waygan, the Affordable Housing and Community Development Block Grant Specialist in Yarmouth, will attend the Brewster forum to share Yarmouth’s experiences with the program.
The information session is scheduled for Thursday, April 26 at 6 p.m. at Brewster Town Hall.
