SAGAMORE – A week after the return of ousted Market Basket CEO Arthur T. Demoulas, business is booming at the company’s Sagamore location.
Scores of shoppers walked the store’s aisles yesterday, a common sight since the re-stocking of the shelves began last week.
“As soon as [CEO Arthur T. Demoulas] won this battle, these customers came right back to us,’ said Assistant Store Director Jerry Banks, “We’re just doing our best to fill this store up as quickly as possible with the best, freshest, products and get our customer service back to where it belongs.”
Banks estimates the shelves are about 90 percent stocked, and said the quick return of customers could increase the store’s workforce.
“We’re doing quite a bit of hiring so we can provide our customers with the best customer service,” he said.
Employees have placed signs throughout the store thanking customers for their support during the 35-day dispute.
