Buzzards Bay Coalition Asking For Help to Protect Clean Water on Cape

CAPE COD-  “Save Buzzards Bay” is asking for the public’s help as the Massachusetts State Legislature is considering two issues that would move forward efforts to protect clean water around the Cape.

The first item on the agenda is a $125,000 offer to support the Bay Watchers Program which releases nitrogen pollution cleanup plans for the Westport Rivers and Falmouth waterways. These plans are used to set action courses to reduce pollution that could impact thousands of residents.

The second is a low interest loan program for nitrogen-reducing septic system upgrades. Save Buzzards Bay is asking for support on this measure, also known as ‘House Bill 4042’ which would provide loans to residents to upgrade their septic systems with nitrogen reducing technology.
