Buzzards Bay Coalition to Hold Winter Seabird Search

BOURNE – The arrival of winter weather also means an extraordinary array of migratory birds arriving around the Cape.

The Buzzards Bay Coalition will seek out these winter visitors along the Cape Cod Canal this weekend starting the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

With the guidance of experienced birders, attendees will spend the morning at key locations along the Canal viewing the water-birds that utilize the area as a winter ground.

A warm coat, hat, and gloves are highly recommended and patrons are asked to bring binoculars if they own a pair, A limited number will be available to borrow.

The walk is part of “Discover Buzzards Bay,” a resource to find unique and exciting ways to explore the outdoors, get some exercise, and connect with nature.

The event is free to the public and is set to take place Saturday, December 7th from 8 to 10 a.m.
