HYANNIS – Less than two weeks remain for residents in the state to enroll in a healthcare plan through the Massachusetts Health Connector.

The open enrollment period for plans, including MassHealth, ends on January 23.

The Community Action Committee of Cape Cod & Islands in Hyannis will be open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with certified Health Connector Navigators to assist residents in applying for, changing or renewing coverage.

Navigators are also available at the North Street location from Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Navigators will also be at the Cape Cod Creamery’s Hyannis Location on Thursday, January 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Residents 18 or older are required to have health coverage that meets state requirements.

The Health Connector’s #Stay Covered Campaign has a special interest on Cape Cod as Barnstable County has a higher rate of uninsured residents than the rest of the state.

Massachusetts has the highest rate of insured residents in the nation at 97 percent, but on Cape Cod the uninsured rate is 5.7 percent. That number is up from 2.5 percent in 2015.
