HYANNIS – The Community Action Committee of Cape Cod and Islands (CACCI) is joining forces with Job Training and Employment Corp. (JTEC) of Hyannis.

The announcement was made last night at the Community Action Committee’s 50th birthday celebration at Torino Restaurant in Hyannis.

Lisa Meade, Chairman of JTEC’s Board of Directors said JTEC has had a productive relationship with CACCI for over two years.

“The agencies actually complement each other and now that CACCI has become an affiliate, we see a host of opportunities for increasing services to the populations both of our agencies serve,” said Meade.

According to CACCI Board Chairman David Willard, plans to form an alliance between both organizations took about three years to finalize.

The alliance between both organizations took effect on July 1.

Willard said he is happy about the new partnership.

“I really think this could be a template for many other organizations on the Cape and they can see the kind of alliance that works and everyone wins,” said Willard.

CACCI provides support services that help make employment possible, such as access to health care and public insurance enrollment, childcare, and emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence.

JTEC focuses on job training and employment services for dislocated workers, adults and at-risk youth, while helping employers meet their human resource needs.

“This is a very positive step for our clients, because JTEC and CACCI provide services to many of the same individuals and families,” said JTEC President and CACCI Executive Director Kristina Dower.

“This gives both organizations more economies of scale, and our clients can access services from both organizations easier now that we are officially linked,” she said.

Both organizations are located at 372 North Street in Hyannis.
