Cahoon Museum Announces Opening of Summer Exhibition

COTUIT – The Cahoon Museum of American Art announced the opening of its summer blockbuster exhibition: Exquisite Shells: The Art of Sailors Valentines.

Curated by Museum Director Sarah Johnson, the exhibition includes over 50 artworks from museums and private collections, tracing the history of art from the Victorian era through the work of contemporary artists.

Three works by Boston based miniature shell artist Peter Gable will be on display to complement the exhibition.

Several contemporary artists who have a connection to the Cape such as Pam Boden, Margot Goodwin, Sandy Moran, Gerda Reed and Gregg Roberts will have their work on display as well.

The Museum will host artist talks, director tours, and workshops in conjunction with the exhibition which remains on view through September 1st.
